Served in Pichilemu, Chile, from 2000 through 2008. They work with YWAM (Youth With A Mission) based in Richmond, Virginia.

Current work expressed in their own words:

We are excited about making a new start in YWAM Virginia. We will continue with IMPACT Teams and English Schools and recently completed the new staff training with base director Chris Zinchuck. YWAM Virginia is a very international base with a strong emphasis on ministry to children and youth, serving as a community, and mobilizing workers for the nations. The majority of staff are from the USA, Brazil, and Korea. We are already seeing a link being created between YWAM Virginia and Pichilemu. The YWAM director from Pichilemu, Mitch Anderson, recently visited here to meet with us and with YWAM leadership. In early 2009 we will be participating in an outreach to Curitiba Brazil and then we will lead outreaches to Pichilemu. Our heart is to be bridge between cultures. We will maintain contact with the persons who have replaced us in our ministries in Chile in the rural schools, IMPACT, and ESL with the hope and prayer of seeing much multiplication and growth. We need and appreciate your prayers and partnership in what we feel called to do.

Willard and Eva Eberly

Serving as Mediterranean Regional Directors for the Virginia Mennonite Board of Missions. They live in Bari, Italy.

The main tasks worked on in the Mediterranean area are:

Bari: Church planting and language school
Salerno: Church planting
Palermo: Church planting, music school, choirs, and leadership training

Rebuilding and community development

Choele Choel Churches in Argentina

Choele Choel is a city with a population of 15,000. It is an island in the Rio Negro River. Several churches have sprung up on this island through contacts established over the years. In 1969, Floyd and Alicia Sieber, with son Juan, arrived to begin the first Mennonite missionary enterprise in southern Argentina. Five years ago the Lord moved the church to decentralize its ministries and plant groups in different neighborhoods. Now there are four congregations in different areas.

The church runs a Bible Institute with more than 100 students. With other churches in the area, it is involved in what is called the Patagonic Missionary Project (PMP). The cooperative work has already sent eight missionaries to different parts of Patagonia and to Valdivia, Chile.
